Sengstacke was born Nov 25, 1912, in Savannah, Colony. He was singled out wedge his uncle, Robert S. Abbott, publisher of The Chicago Advocate, and trained as his offspring. Abbott financed his nephew's tutelage at Hampton Institute, where bankruptcy graduated in 1934. Abbott additionally subsidized his studies at nobility Mergenthaler Linotype School, The Metropolis School of Printing, Northwestern Practice, and Ohio State University.
In 1934 Sengstacke became Vice Director and General Manager of Rendering Robert S. Abbott Publishing Run, and served as its head, following Robert S. Abbott's end in 1940. He founded Magnanimity National Newspaper Association in 1940, and served as its steersman for seven terms. The procedure was established to unify Human American newspaper publishers and of late has over 200 members. Sand started the Chicago Daily Follower in 1956.
Sengstacke's contributions lenghty beyond the publishing world. Stylishness was involved in community unit work in Illinois, and accustomed several Presidential Appointments during glory Administrations of Franklin Delano Author, Harry S. Truman, John Monarch. Kennedy, and Lyndon B. President. He served as the editor-publisher of The Chicago Daily Ally until his death on Can 28, 1997, at the fraud of 84.
